About

Postfun is an indie-rock band from Shad Bay, Nova Scotia. Singer-songwriter Jack Murtha sits at the core of the 5-piece group which includes Seth Voliere on lead guitar, Mackenzie Adams on bass, Kevin Laing on keyboard, and Connor Booth on drums. Before dedicating their work towards this material, Postfun members honed their craft in various East Coast projects including Loveland, Pillowfite, Shaolin, Superfluid, Sluice, Good Dear Good, Atay & Jax, and more.

The band’s musical style is a blend of alt-country & emo-rock
and was described by In-Flight Safety member John Mullane
as Canadian Astro-Folk. Postfun draws influences from bands
like Pinegrove, Wilco, and Andy Shauf and lyrically shares
stories of rich rural Nova Scotian culture, both euphoric
and heart-shattering.

Postfun’s debut EP, “Rear Window”, was released in October of 2023 and embraced Postfun’s love for storytelling, wiggly guitar tones, and catchy synth leads.

Postfun is releasing their sophomore EP ‘Furniture’ on August 23, 2024, with single releases of ‘Sunday School’ on June 21 and ‘Arizona’ on July 19, and are seeking investment for the marketing and promotion of the EP. Furniture is a 4-track EP featuring Postun’s first-ever written song accompanied by 3 new compositions. The project was mixed by Braden Kamermans and mastered by award-winning engineer, Noah Mintz, who has worked with artists such as Death from Above 1979, Billy Talent, and Broken Social Scene.
